Digital Guise‘s interactive show introduces audiences to the way music is being created today for movies, soundtracks and pop culture. Using excerpts from The Simpsons and The Hobbit, and music from Mario and Zelda games, the performance demonstrates behind-the-scenes artistic integration of music and action in the making of films and video.

Axis Theatre Company‘s Hamelin: A New Fable is a musical‐adventure live-action play with an important message about “keeping your word”. Loosely adapted from The Pied Piper of Hamelin fable, the performers triple as musicians, actors and puppeteers in a theatrical tour‐de‐force.

HOWL Qayqayt Community Festival
Time: Saturday, June 6 at 10:30 am – 4:30 pm

Place: Tipperary Park New Westminster (4 St. and Queen’s Ave.)

You will HOWL! with Delight! A day of FUN for the whole family!
Carnival games, Literacy Tent, Cake Walk, Face Painting, Musical, Drama and Talent Shows, Tumblebus (2:30-4:30), Play-dough activity, Martial Arts Demonstrations
Food to Wolf down: Lions Club of New Westminster Pancake Breakfast, Rotary Club of New Westminster BBQ, Cotton Candy, Popcorn
Key West Ford Test Drive 4 UR School (Ford provides a $20 donation for each test drive applicant – one per household)

ArtStarts presents: “The Art of Capoeira” with Axé Capoeira –  Free performance and workshop for kids

Join Axé Capoeira for an interactive educational tapestry of Brazilian history, culture, traditions and beliefs that will entertain an audience of all ages. Expect to have your ears and pulse stimulated by enlivening Brazilian percussion music, including live vocals and drums; your eyes amazed by gravity-defying acrobatics; and your body and soul inspired as the show culminates in an interactive dance including the entire audience.

Sessions start at 11am and 1pm. Free! No pre-registration necessary.

ArtStarts on Saturdays and ArtStarts at River Market are free workshop series for families, featuring free, fun, 45-minute arts workshops with some of the best children’s artists.
