Hey kids! Want to build a better community for you, your friends, and your family? We can help!

If you have a great idea for a project that will bring people together, we’ll help pay for it up to $500!

What are we looking for?

Projects that:

  • Give children a voice and participation in community
  • Build children’s sense of belonging
  • Grow relationships and connections amongst children, or between children and adults
  • Increase children’s sense of safety

Criteria

  • An individual child, or groups of children in grades 5, 6, and 7 (Adults are welcome to help.)
  • Participants are residents of New Westminster, or attending school in New Westminster
  • Projects must take place in New Westminster before May 30th, 2013
  • Projects expenses may be up to $500.00

NIMBE Community Cleanup Feb 23rd

The NIMBÉ Community Clean-up will be taking place again this year, on Feb 23rd! A Community Clean-up is a volunteer event where people come together to remove litter and trash from places we enjoy and share with others.

There are two opportunities to participate in NIMBÉ: in the morning around the Moody Park; or in the afternoon in Sapperton.  

Gloves and garbage bags provided. All ages and all abilities are welcome! All you need to bring are good shoes and a friend to help-out!

Neighborhood Small Grants Invitation

Celebrate Neighbourhood Small Grants

Family Services of Greater Vancouver invites you to celebrate the New Westminster Neighbourhood Small Grants stories and get more information about the Spring 2013 deadline.

Location: Centennial Lodge in Queens Park

 Date: February 22nd,  2013

 Time: 6:00-9:00 pm

 Children are welcome.

New West Festival of Volunteers Jan 26th

Community Volunteer Connections and the Royal City Volunteers would like to invite you and your students, clients and participants to discover how volunteering can connect you to your community, enhance your work-related skills and experience, and help you explore your passions, all while making the world a better place.

Come out to the New Westminster Festival of Volunteers Saturday January 26, 9:30 to 3:30 at Royal City Centre (6th & 6th in New Westminster). Flyer: FOV 1516 film 01

Over 35 community organizations will be out to talk  about volunteering.
