Child Care Survey-City of New West Wants to hear from Parents!

The City of New Westminster is developing a new Child Care Needs Assessment. This assessment will assist the City in planning for and working with others to develop new child care spaces for children aged 0 to 12 years.

This survey is an opportunity for YOU to share your child care needs and issues. This information will enable us to better understand the types of child care that are needed, as well as when and where they are needed. As such, we encourage YOU to complete this important survey.

Please note that only consolidated, non-identifying information will be reported back. Please complete this survey by April 11, 2014. Complete survey here:  http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/GTSNZGZ

Prizes! Complete My Health My Community Survey by April 6th

If you haven’t taken the My Health My Community survey yet – the next two weeks would be a really good time to do it.Take the survey between March 24 and April 6, enter the promo code “NEW WEST” and you can win $45 of Harvest Boxes and a $200 Best Buy Gift Card. Considering the contest is open only for two weeks and targeting New Westminsterites, chances of winning are much higher than regular prizes.

The goal is to survey 1,111 residents (2% of the total population) and we currently we have 537 responses. As such, we need more responses from everybody as we are only at 48 % of our target.  Confidentiality is a priority – survey answers and identifying information will be kept on separate computer systems complete with data encryption. In particular, we need more responses from residents of Queensborough, Uptown and West End; males of all ages; women younger than 29 yrs and older than 70 yrs; and people from all visible minorities as they are underepresented in survey results so far.

The My Health My Community survey seeks to gather information about issues that influence our health, such as transportation, community services, green spaces, and sense of community. This information will be used to inform policy and programs to help make New Westminster a healthier community.
